    Construction Industry Training Board (CITB)

Ref: GSe85484

As the industry training board for construction in England, Scotland and Wales, our purpose is to support the construction industry to have a skilled and competent workforce, now and in the future; our vision for British construction is to have a recognised, innovative, world-class approach to developing its workforce to deliver quality in the built environment.

We are supporting an already dynamic industry sector through unprecedented times as we embark on the search for our new Chief Financial Officer.  The long tail of Brexit means that industry needs to step up and meet its skill needs to a greater extent from the UK.  Net Zero will stimulate exciting innovation in new construction methods, and sector advances in digital, data and technology have the potential to be game changing.  Our ability to identify and act on the development of the key skills that will be needed to support such change as we build back post-pandemic, has consequently never been more important.

As an Executive Director of our business, you will be required to contribute to the strategic direction and collective leadership of CITB, with specific responsibility for the provision of outstanding financial management of our organisation. The Building Safety Bill and climate change legislation are just two external factors that will continue to impact operations, and together, we must be ready to anticipate and respond to such change.

We are looking for an exceptional executive leader with a clear track record of successfully leading a strategic financial management function, ideally in a professional services organisation of similar size, scope and complexity. Operating in the best interests of our business and the sector we serve, you will provide outstanding support to our complex organisation, supporting strategic development and increased impact whilst streamlining and improving our financial processes and systems. An outstanding leader, you will get the best out of your multi-disciplinary team, setting a culture in which your people are equipped and motivated to deliver to the highest standards in an environment that is subject to continual change and external scrutiny.

This is an opportunity to play a key role in the leadership and further development of our important organisation.  Your commitment, strong intellect, outstanding skillset and high levels of energy and enthusiasm have the potential to make a huge difference, so that together we can achieve outstanding outcomes.
