Rated as “Good” by our regulator, the Care Quality Commission (CQC) in 2019 for the fourth consecutive time, we provide a full range of general acute services plus a number of specialised services. We work with local primary care colleagues, community services and other acute trusts, to ensure that patients receive the best care in the right place. We are a member of Norfolk and Waveney Integrated Care System and work alongside the local and regional health and social care partners across the area and at local place level to ensure that people can live as healthy a life as possible.

Focused on improving services for our local communities we are working together with NHS partners (the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and The Queen Elizabeth Hospital NHS Foundation Trust King’s Lynn) to enhance acute services and facilities for our local population. We moved to a Committees in Common structure from September 2020 and are in further discussion about future closer collaboration.

We are seeking a new Chief Operating Officer to provide leadership and accountability for the overall operational performance of all patient facing services in the Trust, and the delivery of key national standards relating to those areas, including high quality services, waiting time standards for A&E, elective services, outpatients and cancer services. The post has responsibility for ensuring high performance and for streamlining services according to the principles of service redesign ensuring the delivery of modern and effective services.

As an Executive Director of the Trust, you will work closely with our new Chief Executive, Chair, and other Directors in defining the Trust’s strategy and business plan; aligning and deploying resources to achieve these objectives and contributing fully to improvements in patient safety and experience.

With significant senior level Operations leadership experience from a healthcare setting, you will bring expertise in working across organisational boundaries and a track record of innovation and change, as well as a focus driving forward further integration with a focus on making things better for our patients and staff.
