The Healthier Together Partnership for Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire (BNSSG) is an ICS made up of ten organisations, including NHS Trusts, councils, the ambulance services, commissioners and community providers. Healthier Together serves a population of 1 million people and represents a commitment to work together on improving health and care in Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire. The Partnership is about tackling the issues that matter most

The Chief Medical Officer will work closely with the Chief Nursing Officer to oversee the quality of health services within the ICS; and will have an influential executive role and shared accountability for the development and delivery of the long-term clinical strategy of the integrated care board (ICB), ensuring this reflects and integrates the strategies of all relevant partner organisations within the ICS.

We are seeking an experienced, progressive medical leader with experience of leading highly complex and contentious quality improvement/clinical change and digital transformation at significant scale. A registered medical practitioner with board level experience, able to engage with credibility across organisational boundaries to drive transformational change as the ICS strives to improve the health and wellbeing of the population and reduce the health and care inequalities present across the system.

Collaborative and innovative in your approach, with a track record of providing clinical leadership, mentorship, and professional development at a very senior level with demonstrable outcomes, you will be a champion for diversity and inclusion and for putting the patient at the heart of all strategic decisions. You will also have substantial experience of providing board level and/or system leadership within a regulated environment and across complex systems with demonstrable impact.
