To support this transformation, we are looking for our new Head of Governance - a systems leader, able to explore new ways of working including using supported technology to deliver broader objectives. You will be committed to the highest quality of practice, values driven, performance focused and have good people skills. This will extend to working across professional, organisational and political boundaries to build governance capacity, provide member support and offer appropriate challenge.
Working to the Director of Law and Governance and Monitoring Officer, you will lead four distinct but interconnected areas to ensure the design and development of effective service delivery (Democratic Services, Governance, Scrutiny and Information Governance). You will be able to work synergistically to implement service transformation in these areas and improve performance and the experience of those who access our services.
In addition, as part of the extended leadership team, this role provides an exciting opportunity to be an active member of the team, roll up your sleeves, build strong partnerships and influence every aspect of Oxfordshire County Council.
If you have experience of leading governance services across complex organisational and political context; technical knowledge of the election cycle and can demonstrate evidence of systems transformation: digital, organisational and cultural change. We would like to hear from you.
