The North East London Integrated Care Board (ICB) will be part of the North East London Health and Care Partnership (NEL HCP), the north east London integrated care system (ICS). This brings together NHS organisations, local authorities and community organisations to work in partnership with our local people to support them to live healthier, happier lives.

Ahead of the ICB taking on statutory form in July 2022; and following the appointment of our Chair Designate and Chief Executive Designate, we are now seeking to appoint three individuals who will work with the designate chair as a designate non-executive member of the ICB to support the establishment of the system’s new statutory arrangements and bring independent oversight and constructive challenge to the priorities, plans and performance of the ICB executive team.  Collectively, those appointed will support the Integrated Board and Integrated Care Partnership (ICP) to discharge their responsibility and accountability to our residents whilst embodying and promoting the competencies set out within the nationally set ICB leadership Domain. This domain illustrates the key behaviours and competencies expected across our leadership:

The successful candidates will be key members of the NEL ICS ICB as well as its committees and will work collaboratively as a Board to shape the long-term, viable plan for the delivery of the functions, duties and objectives of the ICB.  Able to operate beyond traditional organisational boundaries, drive forward the vision of integration, collaboration and system-working and forge productive relationships across local health, social care and voluntary partners, the appointed individuals will ultimately ensure the delivery of NEL-wide improvement to health and care through provider collaboratives and place-based partnerships.

We are seeking a financially qualified individual who brings recent, relevant financial leadership experience gained at board level within a large and complex organisation.

Chair – Remuneration and Workforce Committee

We are seeking a compassionate, values driven leader with a proven track record of leading workforce development or organisational and cultural change within complex people focussed environments. 

Lead for Quality and Performance

We are seeking an individual able to bring to the Board expertise of quality improvement and performance processes which foster mutual accountability and positive outcomes, with resident, service user and patient participation core to the approach

At the heart of all the roles will be a shared commitment to, and responsibility for, meaningful participation with residents and partners, a passion for equality and addressing health inequalities; and ensuring that system collaboration underpins continuous improvements within population health, and within the delivery and integration of health and care services. We are particularly interested in hearing from those individuals able to evidence a range of professional expertise as well as community understanding and experience to the work of the Board. In particular, we are interested in lived experience and personal motivations that will add valuable personal insights such as: being a patient, carer or service user; experience of gender and women’s issues; engaging with diverse social, economic and cultural groups and communities; experiences and challenges of younger people; and those with lived experience of mental health issues and/or living with physical chronic conditions or disability.
