We are looking for an experienced and influential Chief Finance Officer to help us achieve our vision and purpose. You will be an instrumental leader in the local health and care system, working collaboratively with System partners and as a member of the unitary board, the post holder will make a significant contribution to achieving the key purpose of the ICB.

The successful candidate will be part of the executive team who will lead the development of the ICS on behalf of the Staffordshire and Stoke on Trent system. Reporting to the Chief Executive you will work closely with executive colleagues to support the development and delivery of the long-term plan of the ICB, ensuring that it reflects and integrates the strategies of all relevant partner organisations of the ICS, with a particular focus on developing a shared financial and resourcing strategy. Your key accountabilities include; providing strategic direction for all aspects of financial planning and performance, contracting, commissioning and sustainability for the ICB. Jointly, with other System partners, you will ensure that the ICB meets the financial targets set for it by NHS England and NHS Improvement, including living within the overall revenue and capital allocation, and the administration costs limit.

If you are a qualified accountant (CCAB, CIPFA, CIMA, ACA, CA or equivalent) with professional registration and have Board level and/or system leadership within a regulatory or similar environment, and you want to achieve the best sustainable outcomes for the population, then we look forward to receiving your application. This is a full-time role, with flexibility around base/location blended with travel and remote working.

Subject to the passage of the Health and Care Bill, and any potential amendments made to that Bill, appointment will be made formally by the ICB Chair / Chief Executive on establishment on 1st July 2022.

This role will require the successful applicant to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 by April 2022 (unless a medical exemption applies).

Subject to legislative approval, our ICS will take on statutory form in July 2022 and following the appointment of our Chair Designate Prem Singh and Interim Designate Chief Executive Peter Axon, we are now embarking on the process of appointing to several new Executive roles, each of whom will play a pivotal role in the development of the Integrated Care Board (ICB).
