Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent Integrated Care System
We are looking for an inspirational and experienced Chief Nursing and Therapies Officer to help us achieve our vision and purpose. As a clinical leader you will work collaboratively with System partners and as a member of the unitary board, will make a significant contribution to achieving the key purpose of the ICS.
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer and working closely with the Chief Medical Officer this is a high-profile role, requiring someone with substantial experience Board level and/or system leadership within a regulatory environment and across complex systems. You must be a nurse with current NMC registration as you will need to provide high quality clinical and professional leadership and will have designated accountability for statutory and non-statutory functions of the ICB.
With shared accountability for the development and delivery of the long-term clinical strategy of the ICB, your key accountabilities will include; patient quality and safety, system leadership for local maternity and neonatal services and creating opportunities to make sustainable long-term improvements to population health with key partners.
We are looking for someone who demonstrates compassionate leadership with a commitment to the NHS Long Term Plan and People Promise. This is a full-time role, with flexibility around base/location and regular travel blended with remote working.
Subject to the passage of the Health and Care Bill, and any potential amendments made to that Bill, appointment will be made formally by the ICB Chair / Chief Executive on establishment on 1st July 2022.

We serve a very diverse population, with complex health and care needs, comprising both rural and urban areas, extremes of affluence and deprivation, as well as significant health inequalities.
Working with our partners, we have agreed on an ambitious vision “‘working with you to make Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent the healthiest places to live and work”. With plans for service and system change over the next five years to meet this we are focused on improving the health and wellbeing of our local people through high quality care that is delivered in a sustainable way. Our system represents a joint commitment demonstrated by NHS and local authority partners to transform the way we provide health and care across Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent.
Subject to legislative approval, our ICS will take on statutory form in July 2022 and following the appointment of our Chair Designate Prem Singh and Interim Designate Chief Executive Peter Axon, we are now embarking on the process of appointing to several new Executive roles, each of whom will play a pivotal role in the development of the Integrated Care Board (ICB).
