Integrated care systems (ICSs) are partnerships of health and care organisations, local government and the voluntary sector. They exist to improve population health, tackle health inequalities, enhance productivity and help the NHS support broader social and economic development.

The Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly Health and Care Partnership became an ICS in December 2020, but we have a long history of integrated working having previously come together as an STP. We have a strong record of delivery and improvement, and we are excited to build on this for our local communities as we move forwards.   

Together we have the following collective vision: Working together to empower people to lead their best life and are committed to taking responsibility to improve the health and wellbeing of local people, ensuring that health and care services are high-quality and to making the most efficient use of our resources.  We serve a combined local population of 600,000 people across a region which has a complex and extremely varied demographic structure and geography.  This complexity poses challenges to the delivery of health and social care but we are confident that by working together in partnership and taking a coordinated approach to how we design and plan services across our partner organisations, we can truly improve the health outcomes across the system, as well as the experience of those accessing services.  Together we are committed to doing the best we can for people and communities across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly 

Ahead of the ICS taking on statutory form in July 2022; and following the appointment of our Chair Designate and Chief Executive Designate, we are now embarking on the process of appointing to our Executive roles, each of whom will play a pivotal leadership role as we develop our structure, our governance and our strategy moving forward. 

We’re seeking an inspirational leader, passionate about the opportunities presented by the move towards system working and able to evidence a track record of operating at Board level to lead and effectively manage change in large complex healthcare environment. With significant experience of managing a range of stakeholder relationships across organisational boundaries, you will be able to demonstrate substantial experience and achievement at both an operational and a strategic level, with the ability to engage clinical and non-clinical staff to drive innovation and change.
