University Hospitals of Northamptonshire NHS Group was officially formed 1 July 2021. With a budget of around £620 million and with over 11,000 staff, we operate two hospital sites and a number of services based in the community, serving a population of 900,000 people across Northamptonshire. As two hospital Trusts we face a range of challenges, from meeting the growing demands of an ageing population, to providing consistently high-quality care with the financial and other resources we have available and making sure we have the right number of staff with the appropriate skills. As a hospital Group we will be able to tackle these challenges together, helping to ensure that services across Northamptonshire will be sustainable and fit-for-the-future.

To meet the challenges we face, we have agreed an ambitious Group Strategy ‘Dedicated to Excellence’ which sets out our strategic ambitions and priorities for the next five years. The strategy outlines how we will achieve our vision and deliver on our Group priorities of Patient, People, Quality, Systems and Partnerships, and Sustainability. This reflects our ambition for our patients and our need to think differently about how we deliver safe, high quality and effective care that is sustainable for the future needs of our populations.

In this new role on our Board, as Group Director of Transformation and Quality Improvement, you will be responsible for overseeing the transformation and quality improvement programmes that will deliver our priorities. You will support the Group to develop a continuous learning culture, bringing significant improvement expertise and a track record of delivering complex and sustainable productivity and efficiency programmes. You will work closely with both internal and external stakeholders to build strong relationships through positive engagement and drive the Group’s development as an integral member of the Executive team.

If you share our values and want to join a progressive and ambitious team, we’d love to hear from you.  For an informal discussion, please contact Helen Barkham or Michelle Shirley of GatenbySanderson on 07921 308766 or click on the button for more information.
