This is an exceptional opportunity at one of the largest and most complex Trusts in England.  As Chief Strategy and Delivery Officer you will be joining a new leadership team responsible for a workforce of nearly 20,000 and an operating budget of more than £1 billion. We run seven hospitals as well as numerous community and satellite services, responsible for all district general acute services for Brighton and Hove, West and Mid Sussex and parts of East Sussex. We also provide specialised and tertiary services across Sussex and parts of the South East, including neuroscience, arterial vascular surgery, neonatology, specialised paediatric, cardiac, cancer, renal, infectious diseases and HIV medicine services.

As Chief Strategy and Delivery Officer you will lead on Strategy and Planning, Business Intelligence and Performance and Delivery oversight. You will have an instrumental role in driving the overall vision of the Trust, providing inspirational strategic and professional guidance to our Board and senior workforce. Playing a major part in the corporate management and strategic planning of the Trust you will contribute to the development of a culture of continuous improvement within the Trust in line with our pioneering Patient First approach, as well as developing effective working relationships with key external stakeholders.

This has been a time of unprecedented challenge for the NHS, but as we recover from the Pandemic and support the development of the Sussex Integrated Care System we must harness the opportunities to transform our services for the people of Sussex and beyond. For this pivotal Board position, we are keen to hear from leaders with Board level or equivalent experience with a track record of strategic development and transformational change and performance management. Whilst healthcare experience and an understanding of the pressures faced by the Acute Sector is desirable we welcome interest from those who can bring transferable experience from similarly complex regulated environments.
