As our UK Chief Executive, you will be responsible for providing strategic leadership to the charity working closely with the board and senior team. As a team leader, you will develop a collaborative culture that harnesses a purpose driven group of staff to enable the success of our goals. The Covid-19 pandemic and changes to government funding mean, at this juncture, that your role in driving and delivering an ambitious fundraising strategy will be particularly critical. You will need to enable us not just to maintain, but to increase the impact we can have in supporting the lives of those who are most in need. You will act as the public face of Opportunity International in the UK, engaging with a range of stakeholders to advance our aims and have membership of our Global CEO Forum alongside other international chief executives.

You will be an experienced senior leader able to work collaboratively to nurture and develop our capable team. You will be an exceptional relationship builder, able to drive innovative income generation and fundraising through effective partnerships with individuals, organisations and institutions alike, in particular across the commercial sector. You will be comfortable operating in an organisation with a global mission and, most likely, will yourself be able to demonstrate previous experience or connections to the Global South. In line with our Christian mission, you will be a practising Christian willing to affirm your faith in the Apostle’s Creed*. Crucially, you will share a genuine passion and commitment to the work we do.
