Chief Finance Officer

Due to the retirement of the current long-standing postholder, we are seeking to recruit a Chief Finance Officer to build upon our sound financial management and develop a team to support Calderdale’s Vision 2024. You will also be the Council’s Section 151 Officer.

You will join a high performing, thriving Council, developing next practice in health and care integration and playing a lead role in West Yorkshire as part of Mayoral Combined Authority and Integrated Care System. You will become part of MJ’s Senior Leadership Team of the Year, joining a Council with strong Member and Officer working relationships founded upon a culture of mutual respect.

You will play a key part in helping Calderdale reset and deliver a stronger, more equitable recovery from the impact of the pandemic.  Our vision for Calderdale in 2024 is for a place where you can realise your potential whoever you are, whether your voice has been heard or unheard in the past. You will work closely with the Leader, Chief Executive and the senior team to develop and implement our long-term financial strategy to meet our strategic objectives, whilst ensuring effective financial control, value for money and probity.  You will also be responsible for transformation, performance and risk, enabling you to play a core part in reshaping the Council to meet the challenges we now face.

Applications will be considered from fully qualified accountants, you will be a member of a recognised CCAB professional accountancy body, able to demonstrate relevant skills and experience for the post.
