Bolton at Home is a charitable community benefit society that is proud to be working to improve communities by providing quality housing and excellent tenancy services. We help our communities in many ways including development, regeneration, community support projects, employment support and helping customers to maximise their income.

Owning, managing and maintaining more than 18,000 homes, we are expecting to spend over £37m on improving homes and neighbourhoods in this financial year, and by 2024 we plan to have built at least 1,400 affordable new homes. Working across our communities in Bolton and Greater Manchester, we have a successful track record of investing to improve the housing offer, giving as many people as possible the opportunity to have a decent and affordable home. 

This is a newly created role and it’s an excellent opportunity for a customer and people focused leader to be our expert on all health and safety matters. Working right across the group, including significant liaison with the Group Leadership Team and Chief Executive, the role will be our strategic lead for the health and safety of employees and customers, shaping and developing the team and the service to ensure that a risk focussed model is in place with people very much at its heart. We are looking for someone who will establish a team culture of operational and leadership excellence, ensuring compliance with relevant new and changing health and safety legislation.

With significant experience in a similarly senior health and safety position, you’ll recognise the opportunity here to bring ideas to shape the future service, utilising your collaborative approach to build a skilled team and develop sustainable group-wide relationships. Having progressed your career in a customer focused environment, you’ll understand how H&S legislation impacts on a property and people business such as ours. You will have up-to-date legal and regulatory knowledge with professional qualifications to NEBOSH Diploma level and have a minimum GradIosh. Ideally you will also have CMIOSH Status and have knowledge of ISO45001 Management System management and audit.
