We are Accent Housing. We provide homes where they are most in need and do everything we can to improve people’s lives through safe, secure, quality affordable homes. Our 22,000 homes are spread over the North, East and South of the country, and are home to over 41,000 residents and their families.

Our new ‘Building Better Futures’ strategy highlights our plans to build at least 1,500 affordable rented and low-cost home ownership homes by 2024, and we will look at every opportunity to build even more, to help even more people in need. In addition, we are investing in our existing properties to make sure they offer our residents the very best in living standards to make them a home for life.

We live and breathe our values – we are Smart, we are Driven, we are Caring and we are Inclusive, so it’s essential that you are too.

We are looking for a new Board Member with knowledge of directing a complex, regulated business such as ours, and regardless of your sector background, someone who appreciates the benefits of a commercial approach, alongside the necessity for first class service.  As well as the ability to build excellent relationships across the organisation, you will bring with you a deep understanding of good governance, regulation, finance and risk, along with experience of being part of - or working with - a non-executive Board, ensuring high performance and importantly good decision-making. You will also sit on our Audit and Risk Committee and you’ll also have the ambition to do more, and grow with us over your term of office.

You will be team focused, with considerable energy, and a passion for sustainable growth, you’ll strongly identify with our vision and priorities, and enable us to collectively achieve our objectives to provide customer led services and invest in homes and communities.

When it comes to finding talent, we value diversity in all its facets, including gender, disability, age, ethnicity, sexual orientation and identity. We are particularly interested in attracting individuals with diverse backgrounds and experience as well as a passion for working at Board level within a sector with a strong purpose. When we’re hiring, we look for people who share our values. We are real, we are easy to do business with and we are purposeful.
