Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust
Guy’s and St Thomas’ is among the UK’s busiest and most successful NHS foundation trusts. We provide a full range of hospital and community services for people in south London as well as specialist care for patients from further afield including cancer, renal, orthopaedic, respiratory and cardiovascular services.
We have over 22,000 staff working across 5 of the UK’s best-known hospitals as well as providing services in the community, and we are part of King’s Health Partners, one of only eight academic health science centres in England. We have a long tradition of clinical and scientific achievement bringing together world class clinical services, teaching and research, and we also have one of the National Institute for Health Research’s biomedical research centres.
Our focus – despite the pandemic – has remained the people we see, treat and care for together with their families, our people and our partners. Whatever their role, wherever they work – every single one of our 22,000 colleagues, plays an outstanding role in delivering high quality care to our communities. Our People Strategy is underpinned by two priorities, investing in the health and wellbeing of our staff, and our commitment to promote inclusion. We need to support all our people to develop professionally and personally, ensuring that they are equipped to thrive in a changing world.
This role is integral to achieving those aims. Deputising for the Chief People Officer, it will work across the Trust to ensure that our People and OD service is flexible and responsive to our colleague’s needs. Leading the strategic HR and OD function within the Trust and working with stakeholders across the system to develop our capability, it is responsible for ensuring our people have the best experience possible in the NHS.
We are looking for an experienced HR professional from a large and complex organisation. Experienced in building relationships across organisational boundaries, we want someone ambitious for our staff and our patients, putting them at the heart of all the work they do. Previous NHS experience is not a necessity, but candidates will need to understand what it means to work in a complex public sector organisation such as our Trust, and with values that match our own.
If you believe have what it takes to make a difference for our people and the communities we serve, we would love to hear from you.
