Kent Community Health NHS Foundation Trust (KCHFT) are a large provider of NHS care in patients’ homes and in the community. In July 2019, the trust was rated as outstanding by the Care Quality Commission. We employ in the region of 5,117 (31 March 2020) in a wide range of clinical and support roles. We serve three million people; 1.5million living in Kent and 1.5million people outside of Kent.

Over the last year COVID-19 took over our lives and changed so much in the way we provide healthcare and the way in which the NHS is perceived by the people we serve. Our new Director of People and Organisation Development plays a pivotal role in enabling the delivery of the highest standard of healthcare to patients through the creation of a culture characterised by engagement, innovation, accountability, patient focused and performance delivery. They will be working with firm foundations, in March 2021, our staff survey results were fantastic. We scored significantly higher than other community trusts in almost every area and in five areas were top. Our vision is to be the best employer for our people and these results will help us strive to be even better at supporting and empowering our staff during one of the most challenging years in NHS history, and in years to come.

As an Executive Director, the Director of People and OD has a critical role on the Board, providing expert advice and support, as well as contributing to the strategic direction of the Trust and for the quality of service and care provided to our patients. We’re seeking someone who shares our passion to build and maintain the culture, capacity and capability required to meet the challenges we face in the years ahead and continue to deliver high-quality patient-centred care, with our people setting the pace. The role offers the chance to not just shape this within the Trust, but to work and engage across the entire local health and care system, and we are looking for someone who will want to be a role model for our values every single day.
