To enable that, we are recruiting a Head of Technical Services Security, a new and pivotal leadership role within our DWP Digital Group organisation.
About the role
Working in partnership with the key pillars of Technology Services including Hybrid Cloud, Digital Workplace, Network Services and IT Operations the Head of Technology Services Security is at the heart of improving the day to day service of DWP, keeping DWP IT operations secure and safe and enabling development and safe landing of new Digital services. You will ensure that technology services are securely designed, operated and maintained while supporting and enabling service excellence and the need to ensure the DWP’s digital services are operational and development services are both efficient and effective.
This role presents an exciting opportunity to work with Security and Digital leaders within the department, across government and the wider profession. You will engage across a wide range of stakeholders within DWP, working across functional boundaries as part of the activity.
Drawing on your considerable experience of leading, transforming and delivering secure IT Operations in other organisations, you will the trusted advisor to senior colleagues, helping them make informed strategic choices in how they deliver their programmes.
You will be a part of DWP Digital’s Senior Leadership Team, shaping the future direction of the Department and ensuring alignment to the wider Government Transformation Strategy and functional plans for the Digital, Data and Technology Function.
About the person
Reporting to the Director of Technology Services, you’ll be responsible for providing strategic and expert leadership across Technology services on Digital and IT security by creating, owning, delivering and maintaining the technology services security plan. You’ll do this by leading on a number of security tooling projects with the objective of continually improving service protection.
You’ll be a trusted advisor and leader within the Technology Services Directorate and across DWP Digital and the wider DWP Department working closely with the Department’s Chief Security Office (CSO) and Cyber Resilience Centre (CRC).
A proactive people manager you’ll leading and manage the performance, development and well-being of your team, operating in an agile delivery environment and with a keen focus on service excellence whilst managing the operational budget and commercial arrangements to maintain and refresh IT security services.
You will be supported in your work through DWP’s commitment to its progressive people agenda, valuing diversity, promoting inclusion and support for personal and professional leadership development.
