The Calico Group
Syncora creates exciting, integrated solutions to complex social problems by bringing together The Calico Group’s specialist companies with a shared vision of achieving maximum social impact by creating tailored, collaborative services that make a real difference to people’s lives. Across Syncora, and the wider Group, our innovative charities and businesses work together to create social profit, providing quality services that make a real difference. Each part of the Group has its own expertise and is aligned to the “One Calico” vision of helping people, regardless of their background, build a better future.
Syncora’s four specialist companies are within health, care and support. The business functions within the scope of this role are: Treatment and Recovery (clinical, psychosocial and therapeutic); Homelessness and Prevention (homelessness, floating support and specialist support); and Care (dementia, residential and extra care). Syncora also contains domestic abuse, skills, enterprise and training services.
This is a newly created role, where, as Managing Director you will use your leadership skills to motivate and engage our committed teams, to work together to deliver new services and end-to-end support for people who most need it. We are looking for someone who has a track record of supporting teams to achieve outcomes, who has an ambitious approach, and who has a strong sense of accountability to our customers in making things happen. In return, as a senior leader at the Calico Group, we will support you to grow and develop as the role evolves.
Reporting to the Syncora common board, this is an opportunity to lead Syncora’s over-arching strategy, deliver growth and operational best practice across our services in the North West, and as a Director within the Group, to play a key role in helping Calico achieving its many ambitions.
Much of our success derives from the considerable passion that we all share to improve our customers’ lives, and this essential value is evident in every member of our team. Either looking for a career step up, or already established in a similar senior level role, at Syncora you can progress your career by providing collaborative leadership in a highly influential position. We need someone who is financially literate, has a strong business acumen, and with experience of leading large teams and overseeing significant budgets in a comparably regulated organisation. A strong influencer and negotiator, your insight into leading bids and managing multiple stakeholder relationships will be highly valued. Above all, you’ll need to demonstrate the enthusiasm and pride that we all share as part of an award-winning group of charities and companies.
