Connected Places Catapult
As the UK’s innovation accelerator for cities, transport and places, we provide impartial ‘innovation as a service’ for public bodies, businesses and infrastructure providers to catalyse step-change improvements in the way people live, work and travel. We connect businesses and public sector leaders to cutting-edge research to spark innovation and grow new markets, and we run technology demonstrators and SME accelerators to scale new solutions that drive growth, spread prosperity, and eliminate carbon.
As a consequence, we play an important role in place-related innovation; stimulating economic growth and commercial success whilst pursuing important societal and environmental agendas, dismantling market barriers and speeding the application of innovative research and technologies by UK companies in the built environment, transport, infrastructure and place making industries. Given the events of the past year, our role has never been more relevant or more important, as collectively, we recover from the current pandemic and seek new relationships with the places in which we live and work.
As Managing Director – Operations, you will perform a key enabling senior leadership role, operating with credibility in an expert led business with outstanding people.
Responsible for delivery and operations, you will provide inspirational and developmental leadership to a sizable, multi-disciplinary team, ensuring that our people are future focused, equipped and motivated to deliver to the highest standards in an environment that is subject to continual change and external scrutiny. The standards and culture you set and embed must deliver an exemplary customer experience to a broad range of stakeholders and partners, enabling blended teams and collaborators to push boundaries and harness innovation to secure new levels of connectivity.
We are looking for an exceptional strategic C level operations leader who has ideally performed a similar role in an expert, project led environment in which innovation and the maximisation of human capital and efficiency are imperative to impact, business success and external credibility. To this end, you will be an inspiring leader who has motivated, developed and empowered large, blended teams to work across disciplines and boundaries in support of common outcomes.
This is an opportunity to play a key role in the leadership and further development of our business. Your commitment, strong intellect, outstanding skillset and high levels of energy and enthusiasm have the potential to make a huge difference, so that together we can achieve outstanding outcomes.
