MCS, and the industry it works with, face exciting times. Renewable energy will play a huge role in achieving the Government’s commitment to net zero carbon emissions by 2050.  The UK domestic renewable energy sector has radically changed since our organisation was formed in 2007 and is likely to change further in the coming years.  Over 1.2million homes now benefit from MCS certified renewable energy installations and we have set ourselves a very ambitious goal: To see MCS certified products and installations in every UK home and community.

MCS is a mark of quality and, since 2019, a ‘new MCS’ team has been working to make the schemes we operate stronger, fairer and simpler, so that the quality shines through.  We are also embracing emerging technologies so that we can offer assurance across the full spectrum of renewable energy products and services in pursuit of our central purpose of ‘Giving people confidence in home-grown energy’.

To help us work towards achieving this goal, we have created a new Market Development Director role.  Working closely with the CEO and the Board, you will be part of a high-performing team and it will be your task to determine our strategy for growth.  Our fledging Commercial Strategy needs someone with the experience and imagination to take it to the next level.  You will have the freedom to explore, test and develop new ideas that will both shape our future and that of the industry and the consumers we serve. 

You will need to have a demonstrable track record gained with a similar market/strategy development role, preferably, in the renewable energy sector, with experience of developing relevant products and services in response to market demand. You will have a track record of establishing successful strategic alliances and partnerships and will be an outstanding commercial leader and customer champion. You will have the gravitas and authority to enhance and strengthen the profile and brand of MCS.
