    The Institute of Risk Management

Ref: GSe71906

The leading Educational Institute for Enterprise Risk Management (ERM), we are an independent, not for profit organisation that champions excellence in managing risk to improve organisational performance.  We do this by providing internationally recognised qualifications and training, publishing research and guidance and setting professional standards across the world.  By these means, we help organisations and individuals build excellence in this rapidly growing and increasingly important discipline, so they are equipped to protect value and take advantage of opportunity.  Our international members work in all industries, and in all risk disciplines across the public, private and not for profit sectors.

With just 30 employees, we are a lean but highly effective, commercially run business which is committed to providing outstanding service to our customers, markets and competitors.  Highly inclusive, with a strong customer-centric culture, we strive to maintain pace with industry, diversifying our service lines and embracing innovation to maximise our relevance and impact to our growing membership.  Our merger with The Institute of Operational Risk is just one example of how we have extended our international reach in recent years and we have now entirely digitised all service lines.

Reporting to our Chief Executive, you will be required to perform a key enabling role at an important time, as we emerge from the current pandemic in good organisational and financial health.  Overseeing all aspects of people leadership, you will be responsible for a broad range of front and back office functions and disciplines, including business planning, finance, audit and risk, legal, member and interest group engagement and customer service. The role is consequently broad and will require a commercially focused all-rounder; a financially qualified, customer-centric operational leader who enjoys both the variety and reach that small organisations like ours can offer.

This is a role in which you will be required to operate both tactically and strategically, identifying and responding to opportunities to drive efficiency and improve our business, and your ability to provide outstanding, coherent leadership to our small but talented team will be key to success.
