We have long supported the delivery of acute services in Northern Devon, an arrangement which was strengthened as part of a collaborative agreement between the Trust and Northern Devon Healthcare NHS Trust (NDHT) in 2018. The two organisations are now exploring a more formal joining together, a proposal supported by NHS regulators.
We are now seeking to appoint two Non-Executive Directors able to bring key skills and expertise which will help develop meaningful decision making and strategy across both RD&E and NDHT. We are looking for individuals who are able to support us against a context of ever increasing demands, a changing healthcare landscape and the challenges and long term implications of the pandemic. Whilst one successful candidate will initially sit on both the RD&E and NDHT’s board, the other will be solely appointed to the RD&E’s board until the organisations’ futures are decided. Both appointments will be for three years initially and will be essential to shaping the future of healthcare across Devon.
We are looking for two exceptional individuals – one with a clinical background (whether medical, nursing or AHP) and one with a social care or local authority background. Candidates will bring experience of operating at senior and strategic level. Flexible in approach with an ability to engage and inspire a breadth of stakeholders around continuous improvement, candidates will have a high level of commitment to patients and the wider community. Above all, candidates will be driven by personal values aligned to our own and will have the vision, independence of judgement and commitment to support us to deliver the highest quality healthcare possible to the people of Devon.
