We are now seeking to appoint a new Director of Early Help & Children’s Social Care to carry on the recent work that led to our Good Ofsted inspection in February 2020. You will continue to drive our service forward and embed our systemic practice model across the service, underpinning high quality practice.
You will champion the needs of children and young people across the Borough, ensuring practice and performance is robust. Delivering the highest level of quality corporate parenting will be paramount, as will be the development of a stable, well trained and supported Children’s services workforce.
By putting our children and families at the centre of all we do, you will ensure our children and families get the “right service at the right time” to truly make a difference.
You will of course be joining Croydon at a particularly challenging time – from the Section 114 to the pandemic. This is a job for an ambitious and resilient leader to share our determination to continue the sterling work reducing inequalities and providing a high quality service. This is even more important now than ever before.
You will have a track record of delivering good outcomes for a local authority, or similarly complex organisation, and be used to creating an environment for social work to flourish. As a qualified social worker, you will have current knowledge and understanding of the regulatory framework that drives statutory services for children.
