Cambridgeshire County Council
This is a unique opportunity to join a team working across the County of Cambridgeshire and City of Peterborough, two independent organisations but with a shared management team and common vision. Reporting to the DASS, you will help shape adult social care for over 800,00 local residents, continue the development of a ‘one organisation’ approach and take a lead on service transformation.
As a county council and city unitary, we support a diverse population from rural communities to inner city suburbs, with each locality presenting their own challenges. We have developed a team that is flexible and able to respond to these individual needs, with a person-centred strengths-based approach that maximises independence and wellbeing and achieves good outcomes through effective collaboration with other public and third sector partners.
However, we are going further with our ‘Adults Positive Challenge’ programme which will see us transform our services through technology, our relationships with communities and service users, how we support carers, our approach to commissioning and how we support people to maintain their independence. We are also developing a place-based approach to delivery with our partners in health, alongside established integrated arrangements.
We are looking for an ambitious individual who is able to deliver strategic leadership across both Cambridgeshire County Council and Peterborough City Council, whilst also providing operational oversight alongside a strong management team. You will have the opportunity to grow and learn with the full support of colleagues and the senior leadership team. To excel in this role, you will need to be collaborative and share our ambition for delivering the best for both authorities. We are seeking someone with leadership experience at a senior management level, an in depth understanding of local authority adult social care and evidence of good influencing skills to achieve good outcomes. We are also looking for someone with a change mind set who enjoys embracing new opportunities and challenging the norm to achieve the best outcomes for our residents.
