In Dudley we’re forging a future for all by taking bold steps that move the council forward as one. Our creativity and ingenuity through partnership working leads to tangible excellent results for residents, businesses, partners and visitors. We thrive at the cutting edge, undaunted in the face of challenge and rapid change. That is why Dudley is among the top three most improved local authorities in the country.
We are looking for a leader who can help create transformative digital and Information capability that enables sustainable commercial advantage, that is secure, integrated, easy to use and delivered at scale and pace to the front line. This is role is vital to our future success as we confidently address the challenges ahead, rethinking the role of local government and helping our residents and communities recover from the pandemic and build a better future.
Our three priority areas of focus are:
- Promoting an information led, business wide transformation programme working with service leaders to simplify and automate their processes, leading the contribution of technology to the modernisation of effective services.
- More effective and efficient IT services, providing better and more relevant services that are intuitive and easy to use. Fundamentally reconfiguring our processes to allow us to design and deliver information systems and services faster, that improve service delivery and support our communities.
- Building a stronger, more unified and better integrated procurement and commercial function, applying the principles of transformation, commercialism and technology to innovate and seek new ways of working, so that Dudley is at the forefront of pioneering procurement practice, delivering Best Value, Social Value and supporting the Councils Medium Term Financial Strategy.
To achieve this, we are seeking individuals with substantial experience of managing and developing a major service or function such as Digital & ICT Services, Customer Services, Commercial and Procurement Services. We are less concerned with whether you are currently working in local government but will be focused on your ability to demonstrate that you have the skills and previous experience to deliver against our expectations for transformational change and the development of a commercial culture.
