Ref: GSe67315

Bury GP Federation was created to enhance the delivery of health and care services to our local population. We now have 25 of the town’s 26 General Practices in membership and therefore cover 97% of the 200,000 people of Bury. We believe that community-based services which are high quality, consistent and joined up must be the solution to many of the pressures on today’s NHS and that General Practice is ideally placed to lead this community based provision.

We are now seeking a new Chair to work with the Chief Executive and Executive Team and set the strategic direction of the organisation, ensuring the work it does is underpinned by good governance. The Chair will build relationships with Board Members, the Shareholder GP practices, Foundation Trusts (NCA & PCFT), Commissioners (PCNs, OCO, NHS England), and other key providers in Bury as part of the Locality Care Organisation.

The successful candidate will be a clear, strategic thinker and have excellent interpersonal and communication skills. They will be a strong relationship-builder and able to manage an organisation which is large and complex. This is a broadly connective role which requires knowledge of complex NHS systems, ideally within the Greater Manchester area.
