The Audit Committee is responsible for assisting the Police and Crime Commissioner in discharging his statutory responsibility to hold the Chief Constable to account. The Committee will review and scrutinise the business of both organisations to provide independent assurance on the adequacy of the risk management framework, the internal control environment and the integrity of the financial reporting and annual governance processes.
The Police and Crime Commissioner for North Wales and the Chief Constable are looking for individuals with a good understanding and experience of public sector legislation and guidance, who are politically neutral, to sit as independent members of the Joint Audit Committee.
