UKROEd is a private company which conducts the management and administration of the National Driver Offender Retraining Scheme (NDORS) on behalf of the Police Service of England and Wales and its parent body, the Road Safety Trust (RST), redistributing any surpluses from course fees to the RST. The name UKROEd is derived from United Kingdom Road Offender Education – emphasising our focus on the education and training of those who commit certain driving offences across the UK. We are proud of the fact that our courses make a real and demonstrable impact on driver behaviours and hence on the safety of all road users.

We provide course specification, quality assure trainers and providers and enable the public to choose where to attend, anywhere in the UK, as well as collect and distribute course fees to Police Forces and course providers. This involves administering over 1.5 million courses a year, with a strong emphasis on maintaining highly efficient and secure information systems. These systems hold millions of items of data and connect Police Forces, the public and training providers to ensure that courses are delivered effectively.

The Chief Executive Officer is the public face of UKROEd and is central to maintaining relationships both inside and outside the organisation, as well as driving both day to day operations along with strategic development. A key objective of the Chief Executive Officer will be to maximise the impact and profile of the company in the road safety community and the media, building on strong foundations and an excellent reputation. The immediate strategic challenges are to develop the options for the organisation to continue to evolve and extend its scope and impact on road safety, including into the area of prevention of offending and to consider how best to blend traditional classroom learning with ‘virtual’ alternatives which have seen accelerated development during the pandemic.

We are now seeking to appoint a new Chief Executive following the recent sad passing of our previous Chief Executive. The ideal candidate will bring senior leadership experience and demonstrate an ability to lead and develop highly strategic, complex relationships with organisations and individuals. With a strong interest in the work that we do, and the objectives we are seeking to achieve, you will be excited about joining a young organisation which is growing.
