GamCare is an independent charity that is a leading provider of information, advice and support for anyone harmed by gambling in Great Britain. There are around 400,000 people with gambling problems in Great Britain, and a further 2 million people at risk of gambling harms. Gambling has therefore become increasingly recognised as a Public Health issue and GamCare’s activities and services make a significant contribution to tackling this through education, treatment and support.

With a growing annual income, we are a national charity with increasing reach and impact. Given that few people with gambling problems seek help, it is essential that our services continue to grow to ensure capacity and accessibility as awareness of this often hidden problem grows.

We’re now looking for a new Director of People who will lead our team into its next phase of excellence, particularly in terms of workforce development and knowledge management. As a growing organisation, developing the right systems, processes and procedures will be crucial to our success and we are looking for someone with the right skills and experiences to help lead the team to deliver a sector-leading people function across the organisation.

A senior leader with significant experience of health or social care services, you will bring a strong track record of leading and delivering results in a complex, challenging and often rapidly evolving environment. Adept at change management, you will also bring the skills and ability to ensure GamCare is a great place to work, building on our successes to date. We are seeking a collaborative senior leader who is able to work well across the organisation as well as ensuring best practice from external sources.

For an informal and confidential discussion about the role please contact our advising consultants, Michelle Sander on 07341 773 817 or Heather Greatrex/Mark Bate on 0113 205 6288.
