An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the senior management team of the Inclusive Growth Directorate as Assistant Director for Housing Development.
Reporting to the Director for Inclusive Growth, you will have responsibility for the development and delivery of new homes by the City Council, including management of Birmingham Municipal Housing Trust, and Birmingham City Council’s wholly owned company Inreach Birmingham Limited, with a remit to drive sustainable housing growth across the city.
You will have lead responsibility for developing strategy and implementing innovative solutions including developing new housing models to tackle the housing shortage and accelerate housing delivery across the city. You will work with the private sector and public agencies on complex housing projects acting as a champion for high quality housing development in the city.
We are looking for candidates with housing delivery experience at senior management level and a track record of success within a large and complex organisation. You should have the skills to work effectively with colleagues, partners and elected Members, and the ambition to deliver change in a fast moving environment.
