The Copyright Licensing Agency Ltd
The Copyright Licensing Agency (CLA) is a market leader in the provision of licensing solutions that simplify and enhance the way people can access and share information. As an aggregator of author, publisher and visual artist rights from over 35 countries, CLA offers digital licensing solutions that combine rights, content and software to the education, public sector and corporate marketplaces. During the past three years, through collaboration with customers, rightsholders and technology partners, CLA has developed new and innovative services and ways of working. With record annual revenues of £87m in 18/19, CLA is now embarking on a new and ambitious three-year plan which it hopes will deliver continued growth in both the UK and International Markets.
This is a new and challenging role which will take ownership of the company's revenue performance and, reporting to the CEO, you will be responsible for developing and delivering the commercial strategy both in the UK and internationally. This is a significant strategic leadership position and, working in partnership with other members of the Senior Leadership Team, a critical element of the role will be to drive revenue through the identification and delivery of new service propositions and by realising opportunities to license technology that CLA has already developed.
We are looking for an experienced commercial director, with a track record of working with public, private and international partners and organisations, defining and delivering commercial strategy and driving growth, ideally gained within a context of complex and evolving technology and products. You will have the ability to inspire, develop and lead high performing teams and the influencing skills to build exceptional relationships with our partners and stakeholders in the UK and overseas. Excellent communication skills, strong commercial and financial awareness and an aptitude for analysis and critical thinking are essential pre-requisites for the position.
This role will be based at either our modern offices located in Central London or Edinburgh, with regular travel between offices as well as some international. CLA offers a competitive package that includes a generous company pension scheme, private healthcare and a flexible working environment.
