We are always seeking to improve the services we provide for our children and young people to keep them safe and help them achieve positive outcomes. We are now seeking a new Head of Service – Safeguarding (Children’s) which is a pivotal role in continuing our journey of improvement.
As our new Head of Service, you will provide strategic and operational leadership across children’s safeguarding and quality assurance and the designated multi-agency safeguarding partnership, as well as managing the youth offending service. You will be working with a highly committed workforce, partners and colleagues striving to deliver even better outcomes for children and young people in the borough and to be the best they can be.
In this newly created role, we are looking for a Principal Social Worker to lead exceptional frontline practice, develop improvements to social work practice and expertise, and drive children’s service improvement through quality assurance, learning and workforce development. You will take the lead across Children’s Services, empowering social workers, as well as others involved in face to face practice, to identify opportunities to improve outcomes for children and young people and those that care for them. We are looking for a professionally qualified social worker who will partner with key colleagues across health, the police, education and the third sector to improve practices and raise standards. You will also bring a strategic focus alongside the ability to think creatively and provide scrutiny and challenge to those working across the safeguarding system. Your drive, enthusiasm and high aspirations will contribute to our journey to deliver exceptional outcomes for the children and young people of Knowsley.
