Radioactive Waste Management
For more than 60 years, the U.K. has been accumulating radioactive waste that is currently stored safely at over 30 sites around the country. Radioactive Waste Management Limited (RWM) is the company created by the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA) to deliver the Geological Disposal Facility (GDF) for this, and future, higher activity radioactive waste. Its mission is to deliver a geological disposal facility and provide radioactive waste management solutions.
The Board of RWM is playing a vital role in the delivery of this mission. Independent Non-Executive Directors, working with RWM executives and Non-Executive Directors nominated by the NDA, must be able to provide a broad external perspective and expertise in the evaluation of strategy and performance and to be able to work at a strategic level in a complex stakeholder environment.
RWM is now looking to recruit an Independent Non-Executive Director to join the team; someone whose experience and credibility will enable them to make a significant contribution to the Board and to chair the Board’s Audit and Assurance Committee. You will bring major project expertise and a successful track record of working effectively at Board level. With a strong and demonstrable understanding of the role of a non-executive director, your experience will additionally enable you to add value in the identification, mitigation and reduction of risk within a high profile major programme environment.
You will play a key role in ensuring high standards of financial probity, risk management and corporate governance and provide effective and constructive challenge to the Executive.
RWM is a changing organisation and is looking for a leader that can support it in its evolution and in achieving its mission.
