At NHS Resolution, we operate with significant reach and play a complex and important role. Our main contribution to the NHS is to manage the costs that arise when things go wrong, as we work to compensate for negligent care and resolve concerns and disputes. A key component of our strategy addresses what we consider to be a duty to use what we know, to help to prevent the same thing happening again. Our approach to both technology and data provision is consequently not only critical to our ability to meet our own objectives, but also to those of our sector counterparts, as they seek to secure better outcomes for patients.
Formerly known as the NHS Litigation Authority, we have been through some positive changes in recent years. We brought together our services under the umbrella of a new operating name, NHS Resolution in 2017. Working as one organisation, we are now better placed to fulfil our remit, but we still have some work to do in joining up our systems and activity. We are committed to becoming a truly agile organisation so that we can operate at greater pace, responding quickly and positively to change whilst sharing insight and lessons learned with our partners. Efficiency and quality are key priorities, as we experience increasingly high volumes of claims (resulting from improved access to justice), whilst striving to maintain the highest standards of information security and governance.
As our first CIO, you’ll be joining at an exciting time in our development, leading on the definition and delivery of an ambitious enterprise wide digital, data and technology strategy that will enable us to transition from multiple legacy systems to a single, coherent systems and data architecture and infrastructure. To this end, you'll play a key role in supporting a step change in organisational capability and efficiency, defining and managing a high value programme of work and introducing new capabilities; helping us to automate, self-serve and partner with the utmost confidence. With responsibility for our business intelligence function alongside technology and digital, it’s going to be a busy and exciting time that will also see us relocate to a new location in Canary Wharf and we’ll also look to you to lead on this, helping us to maximise the opportunity to define and embrace new and better ways of working.
We're interested in securing a highly talented, intellectually curious, yet pragmatic CIO who will be able to make a strong contribution at a critical time in our development, providing outstanding leadership to a developing, multi-disciplinary team to define and attain new levels of capability in support of our objectives. This role will require first class stakeholder management capability, a sophisticated approach to the establishment and maximisation of a range of partnerships and personal subject matter expertise to enable sound decision making and maintain strong governance and compliance. We have an appetite for innovation, so you'll also need to be creative and resourceful, able to build strong working partnerships that enable the acceleration of our agendas and ultimately, deliver better outcomes for the people we serve.
