London Borough of Croydon
The London Borough of Croydon is committed to helping our residents and their families live in an affordable and safe home. To do this, we have created a new post in our Place Directorate, Director of Homes and Social investment. The creation of this new property owner function will look at more innovative ways of generating more social housing and maximising benefits for all in our community. We want to be the best social property owner we can be for our residents.
We are determined to take a ground-breaking approach to investment based on delivering social and community benefits. Our new Director of Homes and Social Investment will be responsible for all commercial, corporate and social asset management, taking the lead on acquisitions on behalf of the council. As the lead in our social property owner function, you will also be responsible for our maintenance and repairs service and its key contracts, ensuring our directorate focuses on people, property and customer service. As a council we are invested in delivering environmental sustainability and this role is pivotal in supporting our organisational commitment of zero carbon across the borough by 2030.
We are looking for an individual who has experience of operating at a senior level and has a track record of delivering innovative, high quality property services to a broad range of customers. Whilst there are a clear set of professional requirements that need to be delivered within this portfolio including asset and property management, we are seeking a Director who will ensure that the needs of our communities and public interest always comes first.
We want our senior team to reflect the communities we serve. We would particularly like to encourage applicants from a BAME background as well as those who identify as disabled.
