£85,000 to £88,000
Sheffield City Council
Sheffield is one of the best places to live in the UK. It is uniquely positioned as the UK’s number one outdoor city with one third of its boundary taking in stunning landscapes from the National Peak District and is badged as the city of makers’ with buoyant creative, digital and advanced manufacturing sectors. The city offers an abundance of talent with two world class universities, high performing schools and excellent connectivity through the regional airports and incoming HS2.
As a council, we are developing our approach to ensure we can continue to offer the best services to our communities – which means encouraging innovation and creativity as we tackle the issues we face and grasp the opportunities ahead. This is an exceptional opportunity to lead and shape our cultural offering across the city, which includes parks and countryside, sports and leisure, arts and museums. Your role will be to galvanise colleagues, councillors, partners and our community in order to raise the bar of our cultural offering, and to prompt Sheffield as a destination of choice.
This role offers an exceptional opportunity to work with a hugely diverse range of communities and partners to ensure our cultural offer thrives. We are looking for a credible senior leader who can quickly gain the trust of key stakeholders and staff. You will bring drive and energy and the vision to raise the profile of Sheffield even further and to underpin the local economy and growth agenda that the Council has created.
The role requires a strategic thinker with the ability to develop effective internal relationships and external partnerships. Operating within a politicised environment, you will need the resilience to manage high levels of scrutiny and the ability to influence and persuade at the highest levels.
We are proud of our City. Anyone who comes here will find it an exciting and ambitious time for our organisation and for Sheffield.
