Help to build safer childhoods, stronger families and positive futures for the UK’s most vulnerable children and young people

Barnardo’s is leading the way in developing a new approach to partnership working. We are moving beyond traditional, transactional commissioning relationships towards new relationships based on co-design and co-delivery, with the aim of changing vulnerable children’s lives for the better.

This is an opportunity for an innovative, out-of-the-box thinker in children’s services to lead us into the next phase of this journey. This new leadership role, within the newly formed ‘Children’s Services Development & Innovation’ Directorate, will play an important role in expanding our work with partners and driving new, innovative practices and systems change, to improve outcomes for vulnerable children and young people across the UK.

You will be instrumental in cultivating new strategic partnerships across Government, healthcare providers and local government and the private sector to develop innovation, change the system and improve outcomes for children and young people. You will lead the ongoing development and high-quality delivery of our ‘Core Priority Programmes’ aimed at transformational change in our priority areas. As such you will bring a track record of developing and embedding frameworks to drive systems change, and of harnessing internal and external partnerships to solve complex problems and influence change at all levels.

You will bring significant and varied experience of working at senior management level in a large, complex third sector, public sector or health/social care delivery organisation and will be experienced at engaging at the highest levels across a wide range of external stakeholders. This role requires someone with considerable experience of the commissioning environment and of co-production in order to achieve long-term solutions.

The closing date is 10am Friday 13th December 2019.
