Help to build safer childhoods, stronger families and positive futures for the UK’s most vulnerable children and young people

This is an outstanding opportunity to play a key role in Barnardo’s ambition to build on our long-established expertise to become the UK’s leading children’s health and social care charity. Children’s health and social care needs are integrated, so our response should be too, and our aim is to be the leading provider of choice for children, young people and families, and for Commissioners.

As the senior strategic lead, your role will include: developing our Health service value proposition, capabilities and capacity across Barnardo’s and strengthening Barnardo’s response and voice in the growing integrated health and social care market. You will possess extensive knowledge of service design, delivery and commissioning requirements in one of the three key areas we are moving into: integrated Health and social care – focusing on early intervention and prevention; Public Health; and Mental Health and Wellbeing - for Children, Young People and their parents/carers.

We have made significant progress on this journey already and are seeking an experienced leader in the Health sector with at least five years’ post qualification experience within Health services, commissioning, or the integrated social care environment, to drive Barnardo’s development. With at least two years’ experience leading health promotion programmes or projects, you also will be highly experienced in engaging with, and adept at influencing, a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders in the sector, as well as working with a variety of partners and donors, in order to lead on our vision and deliver our ambitions. You will possess exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the proven ability to create impact and demonstrate proactive relationship awareness.
