Watford Borough Council
BE BOLD. BE WATFORD.
Watford is a place with real ambition and incredible potential. Ideally located and well connected we have a great deal to offer our residents, visitors and investors. Watford is a small district, but we think big. It is a place with a lot going on from major developments, such as Riverwell and the town centre improvements, the planned worked for Watford Junction, Ascot Road and Watford Business Park, to the investments in two new activity parks in the north and south of the borough and innovative sustainable transport schemes. We are committed to ensuring that the borough’s growth is planned and sustainable and are seeking a new Head of Development Management to help us achieve our ambitions.
As the new Head of Service, you will be responsible for shaping and leading the Development Management function, which includes the Development Management Service, Land Charges and Building Control Teams. We have an ambitious programme of investment and are seeking an experienced planning and development manager and a track record of enabling development, growth and place making. You will engage with partners and communities to ensure we are delivering new development that people aspire to live and work in and the Council can be proud of. We will also expect you to ensure we are giving customers a great experience.
This is an exciting time for us as we are committed to an ongoing redevelopment programme that is set to secure economic prosperity for the benefit of residents. If you want to be part of an authority that is pro-growth and to play a key role in helping us achieve our vision then please contact us.
