Seafarers UK provides vital support to seafarers and their families in need by giving grants to organisations and projects that can make a significant impact to their lives. Largely an invisible workforce, part of our role is to raise awareness of the maritime sector in its entirety, both in the UK and internationally – and thereby increase public understanding of the challenging lives of many seafarers.

Although we have over a hundred years’ experience, and a proud and strong heritage, we are focusing on the future and how we continue to best serve our beneficiaries - and for that we need people who bring new ideas and thrive on tackling challenges. With a new chief executive in place, now is an exciting time to join Seafarers UK as our Director of Development in what is a terrific opportunity to make your mark in designing and delivering our new fundraising strategy.

We are seeking a strategic and innovative fundraising leader who brings both a track record of delivery across a wide range of income streams, and the ability to inspire and develop a small, tight-knit and passionate fundraising team. You will be a team player with a collegiate approach to working across an organisation and the ability and experience of influencing and working with a Board of Trustees and with key external stakeholders and partners. With strong personal standing, you will be a resilient but an empathetic manager who mirrors our aims and values, as well as being able to deliver results.
