Central Lancashire is one of five local ‘places’ within the wider Healthier Lancashire and South Cumbria Integrated Care System and provides health and care services to a population of almost 400,000 people.  We are working together as a local Integrated Care Partnership of health and social care providers and commissioners across the public and voluntary sectors; committed to working differently and placing more emphasis on places, populations and systems rather than organisations.  We are creating an open environment where we can proactively seek ways to work together to improve the health and wellbeing of our populations.  Our vision is that “Together, we will create a resilient health and care system, which will drive significant improvements in the wellbeing of our local communities, and will contribute to a sustainable central Lancashire economy.”

We are now seeking an inspirational leader to Chair our Board as we enter a new phase of development, fulfilling our aspiration to become a formal Integrated Care Partnership (ICP) by April 2020.  As an Independent Chair working closely with all partners, supported by a programme management team, you will harness the enthusiasm and commitment of our Board, creating an environment which is challenging yet engaged, focused on continuous improvement and with our population at the heart of all decisions. Bringing independent challenge and developing the Partnership’s reputation locally, regionally and nationally, this is a crucial and influential position.

We are seeking a dynamic individual with high levels of political acumen.  As our Chair you will ensure collaboration continues with adherence to our collectively agreed objectives and principles.  Quickly gaining confidence and credibility with our wide range of partners at all levels you will have experience of the complexities of system working and use a strong evidence-based approach to provide effective and constructive challenge.  A skilled communicator; you will engage, connect and inspire at all levels with the ability to cut through complexity and bring pace and energy to the delivery of our aims.  This is an exceptional opportunity for a successful systems leader to steer the transformation of health and care services and to influence the future wellbeing of the populations of central Lancashire. Therefore, this position requires an exceptional candidate with the energy to drive and accelerate the ambition of the Partnership. Our ideal candidate would be someone who is able to bring a fresh outlook to the existing dynamics, alongside a determination to progress and enhance the work currently underway.
