Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust provides a range of clinical care, which includes general acute and emergency services, to approximately 225,000 people in Wiltshire, Dorset and Hampshire. Specialist services, such as burns, plastic surgery, cleft lip and palate, genetics and rehabilitation, extend to a much wider population of more than three million people. The Duke of Cornwall Spinal Treatment Centre at Salisbury District Hospital covers most of southern England with a population of approximately 11 million people. Trust staff provide outpatient clinics in other locations in Dorset and Hampshire. Specialist staff hold outreach clinics in hospitals within the Wessex area. With a turnover of c £200m and employing around 4,000 staff, we are a major local employer with a reputation as a provider of quality hospital services with a track record of strong financial management, quality governance and patient safety.

We know that the ambitions we have for the Trust can only be realised if we invest in the development of an ambitious and engaged workforce, and we are now seeking to appoint a Director of People to join our Executive Leadership team. This will be a pivotal role within the Trust, responsible for contributing at a corporate level to our development, positioning and sustainability within this evolving environment. Your leadership will support our people through an exciting programme of transformation and further improve the services we provide, whilst your ability to engage effectively with a breadth of stakeholders both internally and externally will ensure you play a crucial supporting role to the Board and Chief Executive as we strive to position SFT as both an effective integrated care provider, and an employer of choice.
We are seeking an individual with experience of operating at or to board level within a complex, customer facing organisation. With a track record of leading and facilitating major people focussed change programmes, the successful candidate will evidence a commitment to developing staff engagement, empowerment and collaboration across a multi-disciplined, geographically dispersed environment. Above all else, they will share our passion for delivering patient centred services and ‘An Outstanding Experience for Every Patient’.
