This is an outstanding opportunity for an exceptional Membership and Professional Development leader to join at a pivotal time for the BPS, as we shape and embed the organisational, systems and cultural change which will enable us to become a modern, forward thinking organisation, delivering on our strategic priorities and advancing and enhancing our profile, effectiveness and influence.
Reporting to our Chief Executive and as a key member of our Senior Management Team, you will lead the Membership and Professional Development function and play a critical role in developing and implementing Member/customer-centric strategies, policies, processes and services which support our ambitions across continuing professional development, organisational strategy, corporate plans and performance.
An inspiring leader, you will have a track record in leading a strategic professional development framework for a high-profile and dynamic membership body or professional association, charity or regulatory body. You will develop and lead a best-in-class Membership experience underpinned by a strong member value proposition. You will possess in depth and current knowledge of trends in membership acquisition, support and retention. You will bring a first class understanding of adult learning coupled with development and delivery methodologies. Your strong stakeholder engagement at all levels, both internally and externally, will drive key and valued partnerships. You will lead and champion diversity and inclusion, actively promoting the profession to under-represented groups.
Personal qualities are important, and you will be able to show how you have influenced and persuaded at all levels to deliver significant organisational and culture change in line with corporate objectives. Commercially astute and highly member/customer and outcomes focused, you will have outstanding interpersonal skills and a level of confidence that will inspire others.
