Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman
The Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman (PHSO) makes final decisions on complaints that have not been resolved by the NHS in England, UK government departments and some UK public organisations. This is done independently and impartially. We use our casework to help improve public services.
We are now looking for up to three new Non-Executive Board members to help guide the next stage of our journey to be an exemplary public services ombudsman. These roles require experience of operating at Board level and of contributing to the strategic and operational direction of an organisation. You will need to be able to demonstrate your ability to support and scrutinise, as well as having a track record in helping organisations to innovate, change and improve.
This is an exciting period for PHSO; we are transforming our organisation, improving delivery and striving for system leadership. Everything that we do or are seeking to achieve is informed by our values. We operate thorough and rigorous processes to reach sound, evidence-based judgments and we are committed to enabling and developing our people so that they can provide an excellent service.
We are looking for individuals who have one or more of the following qualifications or experience:
A current qualified accountant with experience of public sector accounting; Experience of advocacy support or dispute resolution; Governance and risk management expertise.
To find out more about the role and for a confidential discussion, please contact Chris Bernard or Duncan Ewart 0113 205 6092.
