Office of Government Property
This is an exciting time for the Office of Government Property (OGP), as we look to strengthen our impact across the civil service and secure the delivery of the commitments made by government in the ambitious Government Estate Strategy 2018. We provide functional leadership, developing expertise and capability of property and estates professionals working across government departments, agencies and arms-length bodies. The OGP utilises this network across the civil service to drive strategic ambitions, helping the public sector to release land for housing, supporting the Government Property Agency in providing a great working environment for civil servants, and delivering an estate that enhances public service provision.
As Deputy Director of Strategy and Engagement, you will set the strategic direction for property staff working across government, building and sustaining strong relationships which ensure the delivery of the government estate strategy. You will be the champion of the Government Estate Strategy, leading a business partnering function which aims to draw on expertise from across the Government Property Function to provide insight which drives estate activity and best practice. You will also lead the development and implementation of the standards and controls that are required to guarantee we meet our strategic commitments. You will encourage collaboration amongst key stakeholders across government, gaining their buy-in and support of government property strategy and policy, ensuring the alignment of estate strategy with a constantly evolving public service.
You will be an experienced leader with a proven track record of developing and implementing strategy across complex organisations. We are not looking for a property professional, though an understanding of the property environment would be beneficial, but knowledge and experience of managing relationships across central government are essential. You will have highly developed communication skills, able to provide the highest standards of written and verbal presentation and engage with very senior stakeholders.
