I CAN is the leading children’s communication charity in the UK. At a pivotal moment in our development, we are looking for an experienced educationalist to lead our two outstanding schools, located in Surrey and the East Midlands.
This is a truly exciting time to join I CAN as we embark on developing a new three-year plan, growing our speech and language and educational advisory work and investing further in our support services. We have succeeded in outperforming our overall organisational income target in 2018/19 by over £1m, so there is much to build on and we have aspirations to grow.
Working collaboratively with our senior management team and our two schools, you will demonstrate significant school leadership experience, an in-depth knowledge of Ofsted requirements, a proven track record of achievement and a real passion for children and young people being able to achieve the most they possibly can. A collaborative leader, you will engender a ‘one organisation’ culture ensuring that our schools and our wider directorates work closely together to fulfil our mission that no child should be left out or left behind because of a difficulty speaking or understanding. You will be driven by outcomes, and exhibit leadership ability across curriculum management, parent support and continuous improvement and will use a coaching leadership style to get the best from our dedicated staff.
The role can be either home-based, or London-based, with regular travel to our schools and can be undertaken on either a four or five day week, pro-rated.
