POhWER represents some of the most vulnerable people in our society, providing information, advice, support and advocacy to those who experience disability, distress and social exclusion.  Often, our service users have nowhere else to turn, when faced with a bureaucratic system which can seem overwhelming to those who have suffered grievances. Given the rising number of people affected by mental health conditions, such as dementia and disability, we are supporting more people than ever before.  There is an unprecedented need for our services, and we are committed to extending our reach. Growth is at the heart of our strategic plan and this is an exciting time to join us.

Our new Chief Executive will have strong operational and financial leadership experience.  At a pivotal point in our development, we will look to you to play a key role in our income generation and fundraising strategies. You will use your ability to influence a wide range of stakeholders, ensuring that our trajectory of growth is coupled with an increase in our profile, reach and influence. 

You will be comfortable leading through change and have good emotional intelligence. An inspirational leader of people, you will be creative in your approach, able to identify new ways of working which will benefit the whole organisation. Relationship building will be a key strength and you will demonstrate a proven track record of working with external stakeholders and the ability to build strong relationships with our dedicated staff team and Board, in order to deliver lasting impact.  Perhaps most importantly, you will be demonstrably passionate about our values, which will be at the heart of everything you do.
