Gloucestershire Managed Services
Gloucestershire Managed Services (GMS) is a wholly owned subsidiary company of Gloucestershire Hospitals NHSFT. Formed in 2018, we provide a range of services in including estates and facilities management, catering, cleaning, portering, sterilisation services, materials management and supplies. Whilst our relationship with the Trust remains strong (most of our services are provided to the two main hospital sites - Cheltenham General Hospital and Gloucester Royal Hospital), we have an independent Board and operate as a company limited by shares (we have an annual turnover of approximately £45m-£50m). Our structure allows us greater autonomy and flexibility to innovate and this has resulted in tangible success within our first year of operation –demonstrable improvements have been made to the quality of our services, we have delivered a dividend to our sole shareholder ,the Trust, to reinvest in frontline care and we have expanded our client base to include other NHS providers, GP practices, and GENMED (a managed theatre provider for GHFT).
We are now seeking a Managing Director to provide leadership and strategic direction to GMS. Responsible for driving the business to deliver its contract with customers, the appointed individual will ensure that at all times, the focus of activity remains resolutely on delivering quality services which are safe, responsive and cost effective. This is a true leadership role, where motivating and inspiring our workforce to deliver as best they can, and with a genuine focus on the customer will be as important as leading profitable growth, expansion of existing services and exploration of new opportunities.
With a track record of leadership and successfully running a sustainable and high-quality business operation, the appointed individual will also bring an understanding of providing estates and facilities services within the NHS or a similarly complex setting.
