OVO Foundation is seeking two new trustees to join its board and provide strategic support for its small but ambitious team as it continues to expand its levels of grant making.
About OVO Foundation
OVO Foundation is the charitable arm of OVO Energy and was launched in 2014 to reflect OVO’s belief that businesses should be ‘better for everyone’.
Since then, we’ve set our sights on tackling 3 of the most complex social problems of our time: youth poverty, access to energy, and educational inequality – both in our local communities and across the globe.
And with the support of over 80,000 OVO customers who regularly donate to us, we’ve been able to find and fund measurable and scalable smart projects that deliver on our overall vision of creating better futures for young people.
But there are bigger and more exciting opportunities on the horizon. We’re now looking to broaden our scope of work, increase levels of grantmaking and expand and strengthen new and existing projects across our 3 pillars of social change.
And this is where you come in.
Who we’re looking for:
We’re seeking 2 independent trustees with proven experience and in-depth knowledge of their field to join our board and help shape OVO Foundation’s next phase of project growth.
Applicants should have either set up, managed or sat on the board of a charity or corporate foundation and have a strong focus on impact evaluation. Experience of issues affecting vulnerable young people in poverty or at risk of homelessness, or of providing practical solutions to the issues (especially related to affordable housing), is vital.
Naturally, we’ll need innovative thinkers with sound judgement, strong financial acumen, good communication and people skills and who possess a willingness to challenge thinking in a constructive way. We're looking for people who can help us identify opportunities where we might not have spotted them and are excited by the chance to help shape the direction of OVO Foundation, especially in areas that they are passionate about.
We’re particularly interested in encouraging applications from women as well as those underrepresented in leadership positions.
