Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals NHS Trust is an acute teaching hospital working across two main sites (Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton and Princess Royal Hospital in Haywards Heath). Rated ‘Good’ by the Care Quality Commission in January and ‘Outstanding’ for Caring, we provide district general hospital services to our local populations in and around the Brighton and Hove, Mid Sussex and the western part of East Sussex and more specialised and tertiary services for patients across Sussex and the south east of England.

We are committed to ensuring the continuous development of our ambitious and engaged workforce; and are now seeking a Chief Nurse who can play an integral role in leading and inspiring our 2,300 strong team of fantastic nurses, midwives and healthcare professionals. A key member of the leadership team and a voting Board member, the Chief Nurse will lead the development and delivery of clinical and professional standards and the development of leadership capacity within nursing, midwifery and healthcare professionals and will be our Executive lead in a number of key areas, including patient safety, patient experience and safeguarding.
This is an exciting opportunity for a a highly motivated experienced nurse leader, with excellent communications skills to work as part of our dedicated and experienced executive leadership team.
